An old school ski lodge on the edge of Aspen’s downtown district near the base of Aspen Mountain, The Gant is home to spacious, residential-style accommodations with multiple bedrooms, a satisfying farm-to-table breakfast restaurant before hitting the slopes and multiple hot tubs and heated pools for aprés ski.
Location 8/10
Situated on the eastern edge of the base of Aspen Mountain, The Gant is tucked into a residential neighborhood just off the downtown district. It’s no more than a five to ten minute walk to get to all the restaurants, shopping, bars and attractions of Aspen. A shuttle runs frequently throughout the day, transporting skiers to the Aspen gondola or the transit hub for free transportation to nearby Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass mountains. The Gant shuttle will also pick you up or drop you off anywhere in town.
Design 7/10

Dating back to the 1970s, the Gant feels like an old school ski lodge with dark wood siding and modernist lines. It’s set on a sprawling campus with multiple buildings connected by catwalks. The main lobby is small and no frills, but it serves its purpose coming and going.
Amenities & Hospitality 7/10

The resort is home to multiple hot tubs and heated pools (although in the winter season, the pools are not so warm to inspire taking a dip). Rooms lack bathrobes, which can make for an icy trek heading back to your room post-soak. There’s also tennis courts and a fitness center.
With a front desk staff, concierge and shuttle drivers, there’s always someone on hand to make your life a little easier at The Gant. The shuttle is complimentary to and from the airport and the concierge team will reach out ahead of your stay with information on ski rentals, activities and general information about making the most out of your Aspen vacation.
Rooms 8/10

The Gant is a condo-hotel with 140 spacious accommodations ranging from one- to four-bedrooms at three tiers: standard, deluxe and premier. Each is outfitted with a full modern kitchen, living and dining room, and a balcony or patio. There’s also a foyer with closets for stowing ski gear. Our premier one-bedroom suite had modern furnishings with an enormous sectional sofa in the living room, plus a washer-dryer. There was plenty of closet and dresser space in the bedroom and a large modern bathroom with plenty of counter space made for a comfortable stay. Daily housekeeping services are provided.
Food & Beverage 7/10
Origin by the Farmer is hotel’s onsite restaurant open for brunch daily, as well as an aprés ski happy hour on the weekends during ski season. (Note: the restaurant is closed from mid-April through June.) It was the perfect place to fuel up before a day on the slopes with thoughtful, hearty fare and ingredients sourced locally to showcase the bounty of the area’s small-scale, regenerative agriculture. We grew especially fond of the breakfast burrito made with pasture-raised scrambled eggs, heirloom refried beans, potatoes, cheddar cheese and salsa verde with the option to add bacon or pork green chili. The sourdough buttermilk pancakes were also a treat.
“And so as the sun sinks slowly in the west where all that remain is Hawaii until it finishes with America, we come to our last drop of champagne…”
